Summary

Aemond is the second son born to King Viserys by his second wife Alicent Hightower. A formidable swordsman and dragonrider, he fought for his brother's crown in the succession crisis known as the Dance of the Dragons. He's known for his boldness, ill-temper, and willful nature. A force to be reckoned with and a dragon to match.

His world sees an eye for an eye. Aemond was raised under the righteous scope of his pious mother. He believes in the order of the world around him and the legacy of power bound to his bloodline. He yearns for that power, for vindication, and validation from those he holds dear. A once insecure, dragonless child that was marred and discarded, now grown into a formidable man who has remade himself into the image of something untouchable. Dry, aloof, and arrogant, he's modeled himself after those he admires and shuns the spaces of himself that may show a peek of the soft boy who yearns for love and acceptance beneath the hardened armor.

Loyal down to his marrow, his relationship with family is complicated and rife with dysfunction. A deep love drives him to do whatever is necessary to keep them safe, even if it means hurting them himself, he will do it. He will do what he thinks is best: he will burn his brother to teach him a lesson not to meddle in his plans and spare him from being dragon feed. He will allow himself the moniker of Kinslayer if fear is the advantage he needs to win the war of succession. He will drive everyone away if it means to keep them safe. He is the one that always tries to do what is necessary.

He's the kind of person that knows how to both slip in unnoticed and make himself the center presence of a room. Aemond is an observer, an opportunist. He outwardly appears as reserved and staunch, soft-spoken and polite. He speaks with the arrogance and eloquence of a prince who cares little for the opinions of others.

He may or may not be wearing his eyepatch, depending on the situation. Beneath it lies a large blue sapphire in the bisected scar of his eye. His remaining eye is a very bluish-purple (periwinkle).

His hair is brushed straight, but waves and curls when it's wet and dries naturally. Beyond the scar on his face, his body is largely unmarred by markings except for a faint pinkish blot of a burn on the back of his right thigh.

Skills & Abilities

Valyrian Blood - Heat Resistance Targaryens have higher tolerance to heat. They can still be burned, but can handle temps better than others. He may feel 'colder' when separated from his dragon.

Valyrian Blood - Dragon bond Can bond with dragons on a deeper level. Aemond has a primitive connection to his dragon, which intention and emotions can be shared.

Skill - Swordsmanship He's a formidable swordsman, having trained rigorously for the past decade of his life.

Skill - Statecraft Has studied the manners of rule, Westerosi politics, and the ways of warfare. Has a special interest in histories of the Valyrian Freehold.

Skill - Dragonriding Like riding a horse, he's well trained in the manner of riding and flying dragons.

The Baneful Wyrm

This monster is a manifestation of Aemond's desperation for control. It is his insecurity, explosive temper, and destructive habits that might end in him hurting himself or those he loves in moments of true fear.

It appears as a magma wyrm which is a large dragon-like creature with legs and two large ratted wings for arms. Scales are dark green with a bronzish hue. Matching his human form, Aemond's servitor has a fleshy red scar bisecting his left eye that leaks a glittering flame where the eye should be. The Baneful Wyrm is highly aggressive and vicious. It will attack anything that is there to witness it with the intent to kill and claw the eyes of his victims. It only destroys for the sake of destruction, breaking down any oppressive walls an putting an end to potential threats.

Abilities:

Scaled Resilience | The wyrm's tough scaly, and horned skin makes him more resistant to taking injury, the skin is harder to puncture or slash. It is also more impervious to heat and fire, as the very core of him is molten hot.

Heated Core | Great heat emanates from its body, almost too hot to leave a hand rested on for too long. If cold enough outside, its body will appear to steam. If bled, its blood smokes and scalds whatever it touches.

Lava breath | Instead of fire, the wyrm is able to spit out a sort of magma/lava from his gullet. This liquid fire will scorch and burn through most non-metal or soft metal substances. It will dry to a shiny black obsidian. (a representation of Targaryen fire and the stone of Hightower)

Weaknesses: The underbelly is soft and vulnerable to attack. Dislikes enclosed spaces and will get upset if enclosed in a space it cannot move easily in.
